What is Express Entry?
The CIC (Citizenship and Immigration Canada, currently known as IRCC) launched this system in June 2017 and it quickly gained popularity. It has a points system that streamlines and makes it easier to choose qualified individuals.
Because it shortens application deadlines and processing times to as low as six months, it is called “Express Entry” (although it can take up to 2 years, and reach up to 3 years in some rare cases).
The system is linked to several immigration streams, enabling quicker processing for most programmes, which explains why this is the preferred way of application among applicants.
